WOMEN MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN eLEARNING
False Bay College started their eLearning journey in 2008. The college embarked on a combined project with all six colleges in the Western Cape. This project set out to develop content specific courses and share this amongst the colleges. False Bay College made the strategic decision to include eLearning into their operational plan. This led to several strategic objectives for the college, with a key focus on incorporating blended learning into the teaching and learning strategy.
Two women became the main drivers behind the strategy, namely Marian Theron, Distance Learning Manager at False Bay College and Carol Dwyer, eLearning Manager at False Bay College.
Their hard work at meeting False Bay College’s strategic objectives, have contributed to a fully developed eLearning department, with a blended learning approach in the delivery of most programmes, delivered mainly by their customised LMS.
