By utilizing AI to perform time-intensive tasks and make problem-solving more efficient, administrative staff can re-focus their efforts on improving student experiences at their schools. 

While Gradescope doesn’t replace the grading process, it simplifies the process. Through digitising rubrics, it cuts grading time in half. Gradescope then lets instructors grade question-by-question instead of student by student.

Using artificial intelligence, Gradescope looks at each question and sorts similar answers into groups.

Gradescope is a great example of how AI can support the education sector and help both students and educators succeed.

“In some ways, the switch to online teaching and learning robbed some students of their on-campus experience. It also takes a lot more self-discipline as opposed to being accountable to a lecture and attending class.”

“Learning new technology was a challenge for many.” 

What didn’t work?

“I think being a student that had to transition from physical learning to online, the difficulty came with the lack of stimulation of not having your peers to attend classes, tutorials and sharing ideas with them. 

“Some modules really also needed physical interaction with lectures to better understand concepts.”
